IBM 1401 Mainframe Computer |
| The IBM 1401 is a variable-wordlength decimal computer that was announced by IBM on October 5, 1959 October 2023 I purchased a real 1401 control panel ( pictured below ) My plans are to connect it to a Raspberry Pi or a FPGA to emulate the real computer I am creating a virtual IBM 1403 printer so you can re-direct printer output from a emulator like SimH i1401 ( or your own 1401 ! ) Some great links include FPGA 1410/1401 - Curious Marc - Ken Shirriff IBM 1401 3D simulation - IBM 1401 Demo Lab @ CHM ![]() | The Australian Computer Museum Society (ACMS) 2nd of October 2022 ![]() |
